존경하는 선생님께,
오는 2026년 6월 5일(금)부터 6월 6일(토)까지 서울아산병원에서 “2026 서울아산병원 파킨슨-알츠하이머센터 심포지엄”을 개최하게 되어 매우 기쁘게 생각합니다.
특히 이번 심포지엄은 전 세계 파킨슨병 유전학 연구를 선도하는 국제 컨소시움인 “Genetic Epidemiology of Parkinson’s Disease (GEoPD)”와 함께 개최하게 되어 더욱 뜻깊게 생각합니다. GEoPD Consortium (https://geopd.net)은 파킨슨병과 관련 퇴행성 뇌질환의 유전학 연구를 중심으로 교육, 국제적 학문 교류, 그리고 중개 연구의 발전을 목표로 하는 글로벌 연구 네트워크입니다. 2004년 설립 이후 GEoPD는 전 세계 6개 대륙, 60여 개 이상의 주요 연구 기관이 참여하는 활발한 국제 연구 공동체로 성장해 왔습니다. 이번 2026 서울아산병원 파킨슨-알츠하이머센터 심포지엄에서는 파킨슨병 및 퇴행성 뇌질환의 최신 유전학적 발견을 중심으로, 유전학 연구와 함께 발전해 온 관련 분야의 최첨단 연구 성과와 새로운 연구 방법론을 폭넓게 다룰 예정입니다. 또한 최근 빠르게 발전하고 있는 유전자 기반 치료 전략 및 치료법 개발의 최신 동향에 대해서도 심도 있는 논의가 이루어질 예정입니다. Scientific Program에는 현재 파킨슨병 및 퇴행성 뇌질환 유전학 연구를 선도하고 있는 세계적인 석학들이 연자 및 좌장으로 참여할 예정입니다. Matthew Farrer, Christine Klein, Rejko Kruger, Manu Sharma, Jeffrey Spence, Suzanne Lesage, Karin Wirdefeldt, Rosanna Asselta, George Mellick, Nobutaka Hattori 교수 등 해외 저명 연구자들과 함께, 국내 최고의 뇌과학자와 AI 연구자들이 참여하여 최신 유전 연구 결과와 혁신적인 연구 방법론, 그리고 미래 치료 전략에 대해 수준 높은 강의와 활발한 토론을 진행할 예정입니다.
이번 심포지엄이 국내외 파킨슨병 및 알츠하이머병 연구자들 간의 학문적 교류를 더욱 활성화하고, 향후 치료법 개발과 연구 협력의 중요한 계기가 되기를 기대합니다.
